The Buffalo Bills were predicted as the top team in the AFC east for the first time since the beginning of the Brady and Belichick era. The Bills have a rising quarterback in Josh Allen with a loaded defense to back him up. This offseason the Bills have put all their focus into winning the division, but with the acquisition of Cam Newton the future for the Bills seems to be very uncertain. With Brady gone the Bills believed they could finally step into the spotlight, but now it seems they may have to wait a couple more years.
The Bills had a top 2 defense in points allowed, and with cornerback Tre’Davious White and defensive linemen Ed Oliver coming back, the defense seems like they will have a strong 2020. While there were not many additions to the Bills strong defense, the signing of Josh Normon could take this defense to another level. While Norman might not be the star he was when he joined Washington, he can still add a boost to the Bills defense. Having a reliable number two beside White could complete the Bills secondary. The one question mark is if Norman can bounce back from a season where he was benched on one of the worst teams in the NFL, but if last season was just a down year then the addition of Norman can change the whole defense into a force. The Bills also added a dynamic weapon on offense when they traded for Stefon Diggs. Diggs fills the gap as a number one receiver on the Bills receiver corps, and provides Josh Allen a deep threat. The one question remains if the upgrades that the Bills have been making are enough to beat a new look Patriots.
The New England Patriots have just made a huge move by adding Cam Newton as their starter at quarterback, and are looking at winning their division and contending for the title. While the New England Patriots relied heavily on one of the best defenses in the league last season, they have lost many key pieces to free agency this season. With a less productive defense the Patriots will be looking at their offense and Cam Newton to pick up some of the slack. We will be seeing a new offense in New England with the introduction of a mobile quarterback. With a new weapon in Newton, we will see new plays and tricks from offensive coordinator Joe Brady who will be using Newton to the max. If Newton stays healthy and gets back to his MVP form, we could see one of the best seasons from Newton and the Patriots offense.
With the Tom Brady rule over the AFC East finally over, we will see if the Patriots can stay on top or if the up and coming Bills can capitalize on the opportunity they have been waiting for.

The Patriots will be fun to watch this year. Although I think the Bills give them a run for their money!
