Which team had the best 1st round Draft?

The Jags had the best 1st round draft in our opinion. This is a team that needs help on both sides of the ball after a depleted season that they had last year. They upgraded their defense heavily with their picks. CJ Henderson is the second best corner in this draft by far, and will help replace Jalen Ramsey. He has good footwork and has a good football IQ. At Florida we saw him make a lot of big plays with his feet. Their second pick was another great pick up in K’Lavon Chaisson. He is an All SEC player and is a very quick player. He can easily add a threat to opposing offenses just with his presence.

Biggest Surprises

Clyde Edwards Helaire to Kansas City

Kansas City took the first running back off the board here with Clyde Edwards Helaire. This is a talented back, but one that was quite frankly, taken way to early in this draft. If Kansas City really wanted him they could have traded back in the draft to get him. Instead, he is now off to KC, while the Chiefs may have missed out on some serious firepower on defense. Edwards Helaire probably could have lasted until the second round, many people questioning if D’Andre Swift should have been the choice for the defending champs.

Ruggs is first off the board

Ruggs was supposed to be the third receiver off the board, yet that didn’t happen in this draft. The Raiders must have really seen something in him because they didn’t even trade back. They grabbed him first off the board and left Lamb and Juedy in the dust. The Raiders better pray this works out or they could be looking at another gloomy season in their new home.

Packers trade up for Jordan Love

This was one, if not the biggest surprise in the draft. The Packers grabbed QB here and put a ticking clock on Aaron Rodger’s career. Many people think Rodgers will be bitter but that might not be the case. Rodgers has yet to comment, and definitely was counting on this draft to be the one to help the offense. Surprise! Now Rodgers will have to start helping a young QB get ready to take over his own position. Now that could be a problem especially for the chemistry of this franchise. It will be interesting to see when and how Rodgers reacts to this sudden news.

Biggest Steals

CeeDee Lamb

When Henry Ruggs was taken first by the Raiders, there was a lot of shock. Many people expected Lamb or Jeudy to be the receiver taken, given their skill and athleticism on the field. The Jets, Jaguars, and Raiders were teams that were in need of a receiver, but in the end, Las Vegas was the only team that ended up drafting a receiver. After Ruggs was taken, it was the Broncos and Falcons who were expected to draft CeeDee and Jeudy. But, after the Broncos drafted Jeudy and the Falcons took A.J. Terrel, the thought lingered in many people’s minds. Will CeeDee Lamb really fall to the Cowboys? Yes, it did end up happening. Lamb will join Amari Cooper and Michael Gallup to strengthen that receiving core in the Big D. Dallas was expected to take a cornerback to replace star Byron Jones, but owner Jerry Jones said that CeeDee was too good of an opportunity to pass up on.

Isiah Simmons

Some draft experts had Isiah Simmons going to the New York Giants at the Number four spot. The Giants, though, went with a surprise in taking Andrew Thomas from Georgia. Then, Simmons wouldn’t get chosen by Carolina either. So, the Cardinals next up went with by far the best selection possible when they were on the clock. Arizona needed some help on the defensive end, as they have been struggling in that spot for most games. Simmons is a fast linebacker, get around edges quick, and makes plays whenever he gets called up.

How many Tackles went in the first round?

There were six tackles taken in the first round of the NFL Draft last night, two of them being from Georgia. The first one taken was Andrew Thomas from the University of Georgia, he went to the Giants at 4. Next the Browns and Jets took two back to back at 10 and 11. Jedrick Williams from Alabama and Mekhi Becton from Louisville. Next Tampa Bay took Tristan Wirfs from Iowa after trading up in the draft. Miami grabbed Austin Jackson from USC at 18 with their 2nd 1st round pick. Lastly, the Tennessee Titans grabbed Isaiah Wilson from Georgia at 29.
